PROJECT REDEVELOPMENT OF WAT CHAIDEEYARRAM

Back to Year 2016.

A Siamese head monk approached me mentioning something about redevelopment of Wat Bukit Pinang - Wat Chaideeyarram. He wished to have a wat sanctuary to have all prayers and devotees seek for solace, seek peaceful mind. His intention is very clear and simple, follow your heart, what would be the best for the temple to be uplifted to another level, what would be the best for the devotees. Well, i dont speak siam, but we communicate in Hokien.

Most of my fridays i spent there, offering alms to the monks. After the session, then site visit and study. To have an in depth understanding and learning, I had undergone a short term monk serving period of 10days there to experience the life of a monk. Experiencing both feelings of a devotee and a monk, and i came out with such prelim sketch ideas in A1 size presented to the monks.

Sadly, land matter is always an issue. But it's okay, it will get resolved one day i believe without political stepping in. This is my outcome of the redevelopment of wat. Hope that one day this will work out, or i might work out on this in real!
